From first steps to professional training, our teachers are here to support every part of your journey.

Tracey Southern
Tracey Southern - Dance Centre Principal IDTA Senior Examiner
Granddaughter of Constance Grant and Harry Silvester, Tracey is continuing the family business and following in their theatrical footsteps. Tracey was trained as a child by her mother Judith Silvester here at the Constance Grant Dance Centre, followed by a three-year Musical Theatre & Teacher Training course at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom. She then trod the boards in the UK, abroad and on cruise ships before returning home to train for teacher training qualifications with the IDTA, under the guidance of Miss Judy and Emily Chadburn. On completion of her Fellowship qualifications, Tracey became an Examiner for the IDTA in 1998 and is now a senior Examiner and Assessor. She is also a coach for Teacher Training
Jessica Spick
Dance Centre Manager
Jessica trained at the Constance Grant Dance Centre from the age of four to eighteen before progressing to study a three-year Musical Theatre course at The Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Nottingham.
After graduating, Jessica enjoyed a successful professional dance career in London before returning to her hometown of Sheffield to pursue her passion for teaching and further her teaching qualifications. She is a Licentiate member of the IDTA, a qualified Acrobatic Arts instructor, and has also gained her Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) certification, reflecting her commitment to high-quality, well-rounded dance education.
As the Dance Centre Manager, Jessica oversees the business operations of the Dance Centre while continuing to share her passion for dance through teaching and mentoring the next generation of performers


Rachel Dewhurst
Rachel trained at Constance Grant Dance Centre from the age of 4 and was very pleased to join Team CGDC as a teacher in 2018. She loves being able to pass on her passion for dance to all of her dancers, from her “little ones” to her adults! After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a first class degree in Science with Secondary Education, she was very excited to move into full-time work at CGDC in 2022. Since then, she has continued to develop her dance teaching qualifications, gaining Level 4 Diplomas in Ballet, Tap & Contemporary Modern Jazz, as well as Acrotrix and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teaching certifications.
Rachel is now a Licentiate member of the IDTA, having achieved a Distinction in her Licentiate Ballet qualification
Abigail Stansall
Abigail trained at CGDC since the age of 2. Whilst training here Abigail received IDTA Theatre Award nominations for Commercial and Tap, where she placed as a finalist. She has achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts Dance at college and a 1st class BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. Abigail is involved in many local theatre groups and has been Dance Captain for both Croft House and STOS. Abigail loves passing on her passion of dance, to little dancers through to adults. This passion is dedicated to her mum, Alison. She is a certified Acro and Progressive Ballet Technique instructor and a Level 4 Member of the IDTA

Katie Granger
Katie trained at The Constance Grant Dance Centre from the age of 3 to 18. She began teaching at the dance centre while studying for her degree in Psychology at The University of Sheffield and moved into full time teaching at CGDC once she graduated in 2014.
As of July 2020, Katie qualified as a Primary School teacher but has still continued to share her passion for dance and the performing arts by teaching with us at the dance centre part time.
Katie is also involved in many local theatre groups and has been lucky to perform a variety of leading roles including Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady – STOS Theatre Company, Lyceum Theatre), Polly Baker (Crazy For You – HHTC, Montgomery Theatre) and Ariel (Footloose – SMTC, Montgomery Theatre). In more recent years, Katie has begun choreographing productions, including High School Musical (2022) and Our House (2023) for Splinters Theatre Group, and Crazy For You (2024) and The Band (2025) for STOS Theatre Company.
Katie is an Associate/Level 4 Diploma Member of the IDTA
Jade Wing
Jade began dancing at the age of 3 and started training in artistic gymnastics at the Sheffield Workshop from the age of 8.
In 2013 Jade graduated from National Centre for Circus Arts in London where she specialised in aerial, acro, contortion and flexibility. Jade is a qualified acro, IDTA gymnastics dance and fitness instructor.
Her performance credits include James Bond Skyfall Premier, West Ham United Football, Coca Cola Advert, Circus 250 and Club Med Cirque, France.
Jade teaches at dance schools and colleges across Yorkshire.


Martha Lamb
Martha trained at Constance Grant Dance Centre then at DeMontfort University in Leicester graduating with a BA (Hons) Degree in Dance. She is a level 4 member of the IDTA, having achieved Distinction.
As well as working at CGDC, Martha has worked at the Crucible and Lyceum since 2009 in various departments. Martha currently works Front of House, but has worked in the Education Department as an assistant movement director and assistant director and in the Wardrobe Department as Head Dresser.
Martha has extensive experience working with children and works at a Sheffield Primary School.
Martha has recently returned to the Dance Centre after giving birth to her daughter, Hettie last October.
Harriet Hussey
Harriet trained at the Constance Grant Dance Centre from the age of three to eighteen, where she developed her passion and skills across a range of dance disciplines. She successfully achieved her Level 3 Diploma in Ballet at the Dance Centre and is now working towards her IDTA Level 4 Diploma.
Harriet is also currently pursuing a degree in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University, combining her academic studies with her continued involvement and training here at the dance centre


Megan Phillips
Megan has been a dedicated student at Constance Grant Dance Centre since the age of three and continues to develop her skills by attending classes of her own alongside her teaching assistant commitments. Her long-standing involvement with the Dance Centre has given her a deep understanding of its values and training methods.
Megan is currently studying for her A Levels at High Storrs School, balancing her academic studies with her passion for dance and teaching
Amelia Bennett
Amelia began attending classes at the Constance Grant Dance Centre in 2018, where she trained in a variety of dance styles and developed a strong passion for performance taking part in many of the dance centre’s shows and performances.
Alongside her commitments as a teaching assistant Amelia is now studying for a degree in Early Years and Primary Education at Sheffield Hallam University, combining her love of working with children with the skills and discipline gained through her dance training.
