  • Pre-school dance classes

This class offers a gentle introduction to the disciplines of Ballet and Tap through movement to music and mime.

Once children reach this level, each dance discipline is covered in a separate class in order to enable more concentrated technical development in each area.

This class covers rhythmic development, body conditioning and general dance steps. Children are usually asked to commence classes in this discipline in line with their development in Tap.

  • Grade examinations in Modern Jazz (from the age of 8)

Children may also be invited to attend classes in Modern Jazz. However, children must be taking part in a technical Ballet class.

These classes cover various styles of dance such as street dance, hip hop and disco. IDTA Medal test examinations are available.

  • Performer’s examinations

Following on from the grades, these can be taken at a number of levels in all theatre subjects as part of continued technical development or in preparation for teaching qualifications. For more details about professional and teaching examinations please contact a member of staff.
